The Longmont Chorale will premiere the brand new piece, “A Vision Unfolding,” in Colorado, which is an extraordinary five-movement choral work by composer Kyle Pederson and spoken word artist Shanelle Gabriel.
It is a unique and powerful musical journey, blending spoken word elements between each movement and texts by various poets, including Langston Hughes and Walt Whitman, with multiple styles of music, including gospel and blues elements, as well as a unique instrumental accompaniment for choral arrangement.
When composing the work, Kyle and Shanelle hoped to re-articulate and explore what our country has stood for in its best moments, and invite us to reach out and seek to build bridges of care and connection.
The first portion of the concert will feature additional pieces of wonder, curiosity, and joy, as well as a feature performance by the fantastic singers of the Boulder Children’s Chorale.
